The Academy sponsors Sonata/Sonatina Piano Competitions annually  in the Spring  for students Regionally.  

Registration and entry fee: $65 must be received by the end of February each year. Include student’s name, age, and piece of repertoire. 

Certificates for school records will be distributed, as well as beautiful large piano shaped trophies for 1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th place.

 Competions are held:   

              Boca Raton Region:   Steinway  on Federal Highway, Boca Raton

              Sarasota Region:  Steinway on Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota

 

Children (3 categories ages 4 - 8)

 

Pre-Teen (9-12)

 

Teen (13 - 18) 

             

  

 

Award Ceremony with trophies and certificates for school record transcripts will be held following the Spring Recitals at TPC Prestancia Golf Club in the Ball Room. 

Students must present proof of age and a copy of their music numbered by line on the left side of the music 30 minutes prior to their category time.

Every participant will receive a certificate, and medals and trophies will be given for high honors.

 Judging will be based on a 10 point scale in 9 categories: Difficulty/Level of the piece; Technique; Pedal; Expression; Memorization; Notes; Professionalism; Repeats; Tempo.

Awards will  based on the highest scores will receive 1st, 2nd and 3rd and 4th place.  Every participant will receive a certificate for their school records signed by the Director, Marcy Greer Bachelor of Arts Piano Performance Hartt College of Music, and New York University School of Performing Arts, Masters in Business Administration University of Hartford Barney School of Business.

Competitions are held annually in April at Steinway in Sarasota and Steinway in Boca Raton. Students attend all competitions.
